As time moves on and USD 257 - Iola purchases newer Apple iPad devices for students, older models start to become irrelevant, outdated, and insecure. After many years of use serving the district, the functional devices are removed and wiped to be sold out to the community to provide even more education and personal use.
Because of the age and abuse that the devices have endured, by purchasing an iPad, you agree that you are purchasing the device “as is” in the condition that it’s in. There is no warranty for the device and the USD 257 Technology Department is not responsible for repairs or upgrades after purchase. Each device was confirmed to turn on and connect to WiFi. NOTE: Although the iPads can connect to the App Store via an Apple ID, most apps are more advanced than the device can handle. Thus, common apps will likely not work (such as Facebook, YouTube, and Google Chrome). But the device should be able to still access websites and interact via their web interface. All devices will not receive any more security or feature updates from Apple. The devices were discontinued in 2017 and lost support in 2019.
