IMS temporary mask requirement until Jan. 30

Dear Parents and Guardians: 

On September 3, 2021 the Board of Education adopted the following policy: 

“If a building reaches 4% staff/student active cases, a required 2 week mask mandate will be initiated.  At the conclusion of the two-week interval, if active cases are at or below 2% for staff/students, building will revert back to recommended for mask protocol.”

As of Sunday January 16, Iola Middle School has reached their 4% capacity of positive cases.  All students, staff, and visitors will be required to wear a mask while at Iola Middle School.  This includes all home IMS activities.  Students do not have to wear a mask while participating in physical activity (PE), eating, or outdoors at recess. 

Iola Middle School will be required to wear masks beginning Monday, January 17th through Sunday, January 30th. 

We continue to follow all other COVID-19 cleaning and protocol. The health and safety of our students, staff, and community are our number one priority.
