The Census is Important!

According to the State Data Center at KU, census counts are used to distribute more than $6 billion in federal funds each year in Kansas. That translates to $2,082 per person, per year. These dollars help fund a lot of things you care about, including:

  • Education

  • Highway funds

  • School lunch programs

  • Head Start programs

  • Nutrition programs like WIC and SNAP

  • State Children’s Health Insurance Program
