PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, we the citizens of Iola, Kansas would like to express our pride in the Iola Mustang Wrestling Team; and

WHEREAS, the Iola Mustangs Wrestling team qualified four team members to participate in the KSHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Saline, Kansas; and

WHEREAS, Team Member Logan Brown took first place in his weight division; and

WHEREAS, making Logan Brown the first State Wrestling Champion from Iola High School; and

WHEREAS, we salute the hours of hard work, effort, and perseverance that became the foundation of your success; and

WHEREAS, the success of the team has brought pride and joy to our community, and your performance on and off the mat has provided an excellent example of what a student-athlete is; and

WHEREAS, Coach Jason Bates, his coaching staff and his team members have conducted themselves with great class, integrity, sportsmanship, and fortitude and are an inspiration to the citizens, both young and old, of the City of Iola.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, March 9, 2020, be designated as “LOGAN BROWN DAY” here within the city of Iola.
