Principal's Corner

Welcome to McKinley Elementary! My name is Lori Maxwell and I am beginning my fifth year as McKinley's principal. I started teaching in Iola in 1994. I have taught first, second, fourth and fifth grades, and was also a Title One teacher. In addition to teaching, I served as site coordinator for Safe Base for two years and was the director of the Jump Start summer school program for nine years. This year I am also serving as the Preschool Director for USD 257. I oversee the Age-to-Age Preschool at Windsor Place, and am the Site Supervisor for Early Steps to School Success, a Save the Children program. I am excited to learn more about early childhood education. I graduated from Emporia State University in 1993 with a BS in Elementary Education, and earned a MS in Elementary Administration at Emporia State University in 2001. I have five children: Eric, Molly, Kyle, Kindra and Nick, and a daughter-in-law, Katie. I also have six grandchildren: Braden, Jaden, Madelyn, Kinidy, Keagan and Avery. |
