Counseling
Counseling Program
The Counseling Program curriculum uses domain counseling, wherein counselors work with ALL students in three specialized developmental domains. The curriculum is offered through large group presentations, classroom presentations, and small group guidance activities.
The counseling curriculum includes
Individual Planning-- enabling each student to graduate with the life skills necessary for future success.
Response Services-- meeting the immediate needs of students, parents, and staff.
Collaboration-- between counselors and administrators, social workers, teachers, support personnel, and district and community resources as appropriate.
Mission Statement
The counseling program is aimed at assisting all students in becoming individuals who have respect for themselves and others, make responsible choices, and contribute in a positive manner to the great society.
The counseling program provides collaborative educational, personal, social, and career development opportunities for preparing students to live in a multicultural society. As an integral part of the educational system, the counselor serves as a liaison between school, community, and home/family resources directed toward implementing this mission.
