USD #257 - IOLA SCHOOLS FOOD SERVICE POLICY - UNPAID MEAL ACCOUNTS (includes breakfast and lunch)

We are proud of the Child Nutrition Programs in all of our Iola Schools. We must remain within the budget guidelines set forth by the Board of Education.

USD #257 does not allow students or staff to charge meals. All meals must be paid for in advance.

The school meal tickets are not credit cards and meals are not to be charged as such.
Meal money should be sent to the school office.
Written and/or verbal notices are given to the students when their account becomes less than $5.40, and notices continue to be given at every meal.
If for some reason the student account becomes negative, a written notice is sent home daily with the student and/or by mail or phone calls are made to the responsible parent/guardian.
Parents may be notified immediately and daily when student accounts become negative.

The Food Service Director, Principal, and/or Superintendent may also be notified when the account is not taken care of or in the event further action is needed.
