The mission of our alternative educational program is to provide a quality, challenging and encouraging environment where students recommit themselves to succeed academically and socially by completing their high school education.

CROSSROADS LEARNING CENTER
The Crossroads Learning Center is a high school program developed by USD 257 in Alien County. USD 257 developed the program in an effort for students who have dropped out of school or are falling behind in credits to graduate on time with their peers. The Crossroads Learning Center is located at 625 W. Pine in Gas, Kansas.

PROGRAM GOALS
* Completion of courses to meet state requirements for high school diploma.
* Improvement of self-esteem, motivation, and employability.
* Preparation for college entrance or vocational training.
* Development of skills needed for life.

WHAT WE ARE

An educational choi... which uses alternative means of meeting student needs..... providing an environment where students can recommit themselves to social and academic success.

Our program is aimed at increasing student's ability to exzcel academically. Community service and vocational opportunities are provided.

PROGRAM FEATURES
* Course work which enables the students meet the requirements for graduation.
* Certified teaching staff.
* Instruction to meet students needs.
* One-half credit per 60 hrs. of contact.
* Students attend by choice.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CROSSROADS LEARNING CENTER
*Students must be 16 years of age.
* An application and an interview must be completed.
* Students must complete courses required for graduation for USD 257.
TRANSPORTATION
Students are responsible for their own transportation to attend the Crossroads Learning Center.
SCHEDULE
The Crossroads Learning Center offers flexible hours to allow students to be employed while they are working toward their high school diploma.
